Here are a couple texts I received a few weeks ago:

Man... talk about starting your day off right!

I recall seeing these messages come through that morning as I sat down to work. I immediately felt I was so fortunate to have a client/friend who was that happy with what I had designed for her. If even the very first proof garnered that kind of reaction, I knew we were on the right track.

I work mostly with churches across the country, but my client/friend is a (quite amazing) wedding photographer. She requested I create a 24-page booklet for her to serve as a guide for the brides and grooms she works with. And I wanted to try my hand at something different - you know, stretch my skills a bit. But my success in creating a beautiful design for her wasn't completely reliant upon my own design chops. Take a look at the imagery in this piece!

Now that you've seen this, you know a subpar graphic designer could have likely created something breathtaking - simply due to the quality of imagery. I could have slapped comic sans on this baby and it would have been beautiful! (Ok, I went way too far on that one... but you get the idea.)

I can easily say I have never worked with more stunningly beautiful imagery in all of my professional career. (And I'd tell you how many years that includes so you'd get the full gravity of that statement, but that would give away my age, and we all know a true lady never does that!)

Suffice it to say, this was the dream design project of the year. I told my client/friend I anticipated that during the very first conversation we had about this booklet, and my hunch turned out to be right.

So this is us, having an oh-my-goodness-it's-finally-here celebration when the box of freshly printed goodness appeared on the doorstep this week. Yes, this is us in all of our glory - her in her glowing beauty, and me with my crazy hair - but there is just such joy in this photo I had to share it!

Here's to a job well done. Here's to entrepreneurial spirits. Here's to women who work hard together. And here's to a client/friend I couldn't do without.

Thank you, Courtney Smith Photography, for the pleasure of creating this gorgeous piece for you. (My portfolio owes you big time!)
